Carlos Rendo, a Cuban immigrant, was sworn in by Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi of Rivervale. Rendo was narrowly elected by less than 20 votes when he defeated former Councilman Jeff Bader in November.

Kristy Herrington and Angela Hayes were the Republican councilwomen sworn in, along with incumbent Democrat Councilwoman Jacqueline Gadaleta.

Hayes lost in the general election to Gdaleta, but was appointed to the mayor's council vacancy.
