“The tragedy at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, has led local education officials and law enforcement to reassess school security measures,” said the New Jersey School Boards Association, which is hosting the March 27 event. “Parents also need to play a crucial role in the discussion.”

A panel of educators and law enforcement professionals will discuss current practices and ways districts are improving school safety during “Safe and Secure Schools: A Parent’s Forum.”

A question-and-answer session with the audience will follow.

Besides Molinelli, the panelists include:

Cliffside Park Police Chief Donald V. Keane, the president of the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association;

Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert J. Kugler;

Paramus Deputy Police Chief Kenneth R. Ehrenberg;

Westwood Police Sgts. Michael Pontillo and Matthew McClutchy
