WESTWOOD, N.J. -- Happy birthday to Westwood native Rob Delaney.

The Major League Baseball pitcher was born Sept. 8, 1984 turns 32 on Thursday.

Delaney attended Pascack Valley High School and was born in Westwood.

He played baseball and basketball all four years at Pascack Valley and was a first-team All-League selection as a sophomore, junior and senior in baseball, as a pitcher and first baseman. He also earned All-County honors in basketball and baseball as a junior and a senior.

He pitched for St. John's University and majored in sports management.

Delaney pitched for the Minnesota Twins and the Tampa Bay Rays and is a free agent.
