River Vale's Jewish Home Offers Free Cyber Security Seminar

RIVER VALE, N. J. -- The public is invited to a free program July 18 in River Vale that focuses on scams and indentity theft issues faced by senior citizens.

Veronica Ross of Kearny Bank will present the seminar, titled "Indentifying and Avoiding Scams," at 11 a.m. July 18 in the theater in the Jewish Home Assisted Living facility, 685 Westwood Ave., River Vale.

Ross is vice president/small business banker at Kearny Bank. The presentation was developed by the American Bankers Association and covers tips for avoiding common scams targeting senior citizens.

The program also covers tips for avoiding identity theft and how to recognize scams, as well as safety tips for buying things online, officials said. Light refreshments will be served.
