Nearly 47 years to date, the Bergen County Department of Public Works authorized the design of a traffic light on Lincoln Boulevard.

This week, that light was installed.

"In the letter, we see that the county had offered to construct a traffic light at Lincoln Boulevard back in 1970," Mayor Lou Lamatina said of the Aug. 26, 1970 letter.

"I am not sure why, but the traffic light was never installed. Now, approximately 47 years to the date of the letter, the light is now operational."
