The students celebrated the variety in the English language by dressing up in different ways to represent a word they chose.
"Most of our costumes were completely handmade," Memorial Principal Jessica Espinoza said, "which was probably the most exciting part because it was really fun to see how different people interpreted the words and also came up with some really creative ideas for demonstrating those words in a costume."
The parade was inspired by the book "Miss Alaineus: A Vocabulary Disaster" by Debra Frasier.
