HILLSDALE, N.J. -- Students in the Pascack Valley High School Environment Club, led by advisors Kristen Lindstrom and Michela Piccoline, recently planted a native pollinator garden at the school.

The group planted over 250 native perennial wildflowers including Meadow Blazing Stars, Appalachian mountain mint and black-eyed Susans by the new tennis courts behind the school. Given a decline of butterflies and bees, this garden was created as a habitat to attract and cultivate pollinators.

The Bergen County Utilities Authority proved funding for the garden through a grant.
