Woodcliff Lake middle-schoolers aim to curb hunger through Project N.E.S.T.

HOW YOU CAN HELP: A group of students determined to minimize hunger throughout North Jersey have begun their second annnual drive to provide Thanksgiving dinners for needy families.

Yesterday, the students from Woodcliff Lake Middle School set up outside the A&P in Woodcliff Lake, accepting donations for Project N.E.S.T. (No Empty Stomachs Today).

Their task this season goes beyond fundraising, however: The youngsters will collect, assemble and deliver the incredients for the  to the Apostles House Food Pantry in Newark.

They’ll be back at the A&P this Saturday. In addition to cash and gift-card donations, they’re hoping to collect:

* canned vegetables (yams, green beans, etc.)
* boxed mashed potatoes
* cranberry sauce
* canned gravy
* stuffing
* canned fruit
