Westwood crash leaves car on its side

ONLY ON CVP: Firefighters removed the 52-year-old driver of a car through the windshield of an SUV knocked on its side in a collision in Westwood this afternoon before she was taken to a local hospital, borough police told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The woman ‘had driven the Honda CRV on Madison Avenue into the middle of the intersection of Irvington Street when it was struck by a silver Acura headed west around 3:10, Westwood Sgt. Michael Pontillo said.

The impact sent the Honda spinning before it landed on its side, he said.

A 19-year-old woman in the Acura was taken to the hospital, as well, with a leg injury, Pontillo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Hillsdale’s fire and ambulance service, as well as River Vale’s ambulance squad, joined their Westwood colleagues.
