The 48-year-old man was pulled from the pool at Lifetime Fitness around 10:50 a.m., Police Chief Jeremy Abrams told Daily Voice.
Triboro Ambulance and paramedic units responded and continued resuscitation efforts, he said.
The victim was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, where sources told Daily Voice that he succumbed to his injuries.
Police hadn’t officially identified him by mid-afternoon. He was in swim wear and wasn’t carrying identification, the chief said.
