The Bergen Academy bus had pulled up on Fair Lawn Parkway at Wilson Street around 7 a.m. when the boy crossed the street and was struck by the passing car, Police Chief Robert Kugler told Daily Voice.

The bus "didn't have its flashing red lights on yet," Kugler said.

The Saddle Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps. took the boy to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered serious, the chief said.

The 53-year-old female driver from Saddle Brook remained at the scene, he said.

No summonses were immediately issued, although an investigation was continuing, the chief said.

Police were reviewing residential surveillance video that captured the incident, he said.
