Reward up to $5,000 in hit and run that injured Washington Township officer

ALERT: The reward has been increased to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the driver of a black SUV that struck a Washington Township officer as she walked back to her cruiser after writing a parking ticket early this morning.

Officer Heather Castronova sustained a fractured elbow, among other injuries, when she was clipped around 4 a.m. on Fern Street, a residential road near Washington Avenue, Lt. Rich Skinner said this afternoon.

The driver kept going, heading south on Washington Avenue.

Castronova was released after being treated at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

Washington Township’s PBA has posted a $2,500 reward, matched by PBA Local 206.
