Police: Hillsdale Driver OK After SUV Slides 100 Yards On Side In Crash

MAYWOOD, N.J. -- A 19-year-old Hillsdale driver and two passengers climbed out the back of a small SUV that slid nearly 100 yards on its side and hit a tree overnight Friday in Maywood, authorities said.

Injuries were considered minor.

Borough firefighters stabilized the vehicle as the trio climbed through the hatch following the 3:48 a.m. crash in the 700 block of northbound Maywood Avenue, Police Chief David Pegg told Daily Voice.

All three were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that were considered minor.

Maywood firefighters and two borough EMS units joined police at the scene, along with Rochelle Park firefighters.
