Multiple injuries in Washington Township head-on crash

ONLY ON CVP: Both drivers and a single passenger each were taken to local hospitals following a head-on crash in Washington Township tonight.

Five ambulances responded along with Washington Township and Hillsdale police to the 6:45 p.m. collision of a Honda CRV and a Kia Rio at the top of Washington Avenue just west of Beechwood Drive near the entrance to the Garden State Parkway.

Witnesses said the Kia crossed the double-yellow line and slammed into the Honda.

Washington Avenue was closed in both directions between Beechwood Drive and Jackson Avenue while the scene was cleared.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.
