ONLY CLIFFVIEW PILOT HAS IT: Police in two states have pooled their resources and believe they are closing in on the gunman who killed former Westwood High School star Ryan Henry and seriously wounded his brother, Richard, after a fight at a West Virginia bar. READ MORE….

The Henry brothers were both student athletes who lived on Sand Road and, by all accounts, had excellent reputations in school and in town.

Ryan, 25, was an outstanding backetball player who went on to play for Fisher College in Boston’s Back Bay.

“They were good kids. They never got into any kind of trouble,” a Westwood police officer told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“The world has lost an outstanding young man” [in Ryan],” said Diane Riley, his former boss at Fisher College. “Unfortunately, we are left with dirtbags who could so callously take the life of another human being without a second thought.

“My heart goes out to his family and friends. I would like them to know he was liked and respected by all who knew him.”

Details out of West Virginia were sketchy. Police confirmed that several shots were fired in the incident, reported around 1:45 a.m. Monday outside a tavern in Ridgeley known as My Place and that no arrests had been made as of this afternoon.

However, Mineral County Sheriff Craig Fraley told the Cumberland (W.Va.) Times News: “The suspect and others that may be involved have left the area and we are following up on that. The investigation is continuing and we hope to have enough to obtain warrants soon.”

The brothers were taken to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in Cumberland. Richard Henry is alive, but little much else was known this afternoon. Police previously listed the 23-year-old’s condition as serious.
