The Marsellus Place resident told police he caught a man later identified as 26-year-old Josten M Jesters-Young of Lodi with his shirt off laying next to his car and trying to remove to remove his front bumper cover just after 10 p.m. Wednesday, Capt. Darren Sucorowski told Daily Voice.

He chased Jesters-Young toward Midland Avenue, where the suspect put on a dark shirt from a small backpack and vanished onto Hobart Place, the captain said.

Moments later, Sgt. Gerald Wich found Jesters-Young in South Hackensack, a short distance from the call, he said.

Jesters-Young, who was wanted on warrants from Lodi and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, gave Wich a fake name at first, Sucorowski said.

He was quickly identified, however, taken to headquarters for processing on charges of attempt theft and hindering, and taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing.
