The girl was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with what were characterized as minor injuries following the crash, which a spokesperson said occurred at 11:11 a.m.

Her two passengers got out, but the driver didn’t after she panicked and drove onto the tracks as the gates were coming down, NJ Transit’s William Smith told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

None of the 60 passengers or crew members on the westbound Pascack Valley Line #2107 train was injured, Smith said.

A light pole was knocked down and landed atop another vehicle.

Service resumed between Park Ridge and Spring Valley just before 1 o’clock.

Area roads were predictably thickened, including westbound on Grand Avenue, as a result of diverted Kinderkamack Road traffic.

(NOTE: Residents of New Jersey and New York can obtain a learner’s permit at 16.)
