YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A naked “boob shot” sent by a female student to a male student at Westwood Regional Junior-Senior High School last month prompted an investigation involving school officials and Washington Township police, sources told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .
The boy shared the image with others, prompting a confiscation of some students’ cellphones as authorities began looking into the incident, they said.
“Cell phones leave digital footprints,” one of them told CLIFFVIEW PILOT , “so you know who sent it, got it and forwarded it.”
The girl subsequently was suspended for 10 days, another said.
“She’s the one who sent it,” the source said, adding that “it’s nothing that hasn’t gone on in other school districts.”
Parents were notified and two other instances of inappropriate shared images were reported, Lt. John Calamari told attendees during an Internet safety presentation, “Staying Safe in Cyberspace,” by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Computer Crimes Unit at the school last night.
However, these were “not the same” as the image that led to the investigation, a source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.
