Despite an extensive rap sheet -- which followed a delinquency history that began in his early teens -- 21-year-old Christopher Siguenza of Moonachie received leniency when a Municipal Court judge sentenced him Monday.
Under the terms of a plea deal, Siguenza admitted that he jumped the counter at Palisades Park's Central Boulevard post office on March 22 and ordered a clerk to open a cash drawer.
He snatched $90 in cash, ran out and ditched some of the clothing he was wearing in a nearby garbage bin, authorities said.
Palisades Park Detective Frank DeCicco found the clothing and showed the clerk a photo lineup. She picked out Siguenza, he said.
Two days later, Siguenza posted on Facebook: "How I go n rob a post office n the b*tch help me take the money sh*t is crazy lol."
Both Garfield police (in late February) and Ridgefield Park police (last December) arrested Siguenza on various charges, only to have judges release him under New Jersey's 2017 bail reform law, records show.
Previous arrests the past two years involved allegations of criminal sexual contact in Wood-Ridge and various offenses in Palisades Park, including driving without a license and pot possession.
He was already in the Bergen County Jail when DeCicco nailed Siguenza for the post office robbery. Just days earlier, Hasbrouck Heights police charged him with stealing credit cards from gym lockers and using them to buy booze.
