Authorities in Colorado arrested Greaves Monday under a Florida warrant. He’s being held pending extradition.
“You cannot engage or depict children in a harmful relationship,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd in Florida.
Greaves tried changing the title to “The Prince and the Pedophile.”
“The new title expresses an important reality of pedophilia, namely that pedophiles treat their young partners like royalty. The sex they share is basically just what adults call foreplay,” he wrote to Joel L. Watts, who publishes the blog Unsettled Christianity.
“So, you won a small battle with Amazon and myself. So what?” Greaves wrote to Watts. “Even though people like most of [those] here got Amazon to [give in], you haven’t betten(sic) me. I can still publish my book and sell it everywhere. However, it is time for you and your ilk to undo what you have done.”
He was referring to the thousands of Amazon.com customers who threatened to boycott the retail giant‘s website after it began offering “The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure: A Child-Lover’s Code of Conduct” for sale.

After initially citing freedom of speech laws, Amazon pulled the book, which depicts boys as young as 9 involved in sex, advises pedophiles how to find and groom minors and generally outlines how disgustingly criminal acts “should” be carried out.
Greaves then took it a step further, threatening to “take another one of my books (which was also banned) and start making it available to every man woman and child on this planet for free… [e]ach of which will be encouraged to pass it on further and further and further until one day your own children will be carrying it, in their rear [pocket] as they walk-off to do who knows what.”
The sheriff of Polk County wasn’t about to let that happen.
“There may be nothing that the other 49 states can do,” Judd said, “but there is something that the state of Florida can do … to make sure we prosecute Philip Greaves for his manifesto.”
