Organizers are hoping for a huge turnout next week at an event dedicated to raising some of the nearly $100,000 for a kidney transplant for Gavin Scimeca, the young son of River Vale Police Officer Anthony Scimeca and his wife, Tara. Gavin has Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD) and needs the transplant to survive.

“An Evening For Gavin” will feature food tasting by Banchetto Feast and Pompilio’s Pizza, both of Westwood; Davey’s Irish Pub and The Porter House, both of Montvale; and Blue Moon of Woodcliff Lake, as well as a wine tasting sponsored by Ridgemont Liquors of Park Ridge.

A Tricky Tray will feature more than 100 prizes. Various vendors will also set up shop.

“The family and friends of Gavin want to encourage everyone in the community to attend our upcoming event in an effort to give him a second chance at life,” said Event Chair Judy Hawkins.
