PARK RIDGE, N.J. – Sophie Kalivas, of Park Ridge, formerly of Oradell, died Wednesday, Jan. 20. She was 92.
She worked beside her husband in the restaurant industry for many years. She was most proud of being a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother.
She was the wife of the late Steve; mother of Alex and his wife, Dorothy; George and his wife, Thea; grandmother of Jason Kalivas,; Nicole Campell and her husband, Brian; Stephanie Sipala and her husband, Rick; Elissa Berkowitz and her husband, Randy; Tara Aylward and her husband, Christopher; and great-grandmother of James and Juliana Campbell.
Family and friends are invited for visitation from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Athanasios Church, 51 Paramus Road, Paramus. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in her name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 E. 56th St., 8th floor, New York, NY 10022; or to the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
