MONTVALE, N.J. -- Nancy B. Kinard (nee Gordon), 75, of Montvale, died peacefully Dec. 19, 2015 surrounded by her loving family and the compassionate caregivers at Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River.
She was born in Manhattan, the daughter of Alexander and Adele Gordon.
Kinard was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard, in 2001.
She is survived by her brother, Roy Gordon (Carol); three devoted daughters, Karen Dodson, Diane LePore, Sharon Kinard and her loving son-in-law Larry LePore; four adoring granddaughters, Michelle and Heather Dodson and Lauren and Taylor LePore; her Yorkie, Heide; her sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews, their families and her loving and supportive friends.
She retired in 2007 from her position in the business office of the Pascack Valley Regional High School District, where she was employed for 25 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement, spending time with and taking care of her family, feeding the birds playing Bridge and Mahjong and teaching others how to play, participating in book clubs and going on trips with the Montvale Seniors Club. She was an active member of the Montvale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for a number of decades.
The funeral service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 112 N Main St., Pearl River, N.Y. Interment in Brick Church Cemetery in New Hempstead, N.Y.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home, Inc., 155 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge.
