WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. -- James Thomas Horris, of Woodcliff Lake, died July 31. He was 92.
He was born July 1, 1924, in the Bronx. He started his career in the New York Telephone Company as an installer and 42 years later retired as vice president and general manager. During that time, he worked at many different levels and offices, always taking on the challenges of a growing company and succeeding in each position. He was a member and became the chairman of the National Convention of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine M. Janicek; sons, James A. Horris and Matthew J Horris and his wife Dianna; grandchildren, Rebecca, Jessica, Alexa and her husband William, Brenna, Jamie and his wife Kelly, Zachary and Hannah; and great-grandchildren, Emmy, Channing and Will.
