RIVER VALE, N.J. -- Elizabeth Devine (nee Sheerins), 94, passed away May 21, 2016 after a brief illness.
She was predeceased by her husband James.
She was a resident of Bergenfield and Westwood, and lived in River Vale for the past 40 years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Marybeth and Gerald Quirk; grandsons William (Stephanie) Quirk and Christopher (Tanya) Quirk; great-grandchildren Taylor, Riley, and Logan; brother John (Mary) Sheerins; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters Vera (George) Quinn and Rita (John) Flynn.
A native of New York City, Devine graduated from Cathedral High School before serving for 13 years as a School Sister of Notre Dame. She later worked as a secretary for Cathedral High School for 10 years.
Visiting hours are from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Ave., Bergenfield. All will gather at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday for a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Hillsdale. Interment will be in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
