Elaine Louise Mischler, 88, Formerly Of Emerson

EMERSON, N.J. – Elaine Louise Mischler, 88, formerly of Emerson, died Monday, Sept. 7 in Bradenton, Fla.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. While in Bradenton, she attended church and Bible study regularly and was the organist and choir director at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was the secretary of the LWML at Hope Lutheran Church.

While her daughters were growing up, she taught piano lessons at home. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, needlepoint, take pictures and travel extensively with her husband.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, and her parents John and Clara Mahler.

She is survived by her daughters Diane and her husband, Stewart Blank, of Hillsdale; and Claire and her husband, John Miller, of Midlothian, Va.; and one granddaughter.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell. Services will be at 4 p.m.Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church at 155 Second Ave., Westwood. Interment will be Monday at Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island, N.Y.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Westwood.
