PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- Carol Amelia Rathgeb, 91, of Park Ridge, died on July 10 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of the late Robert J. Rathgeb, Sr. for 61 years.
She was a 1942 graduate of Park Ridge High School. Before having children, Carol held secretarial positions at Standard and Poors in Manhattan, Van Dusen Aircraft and the Bendix Corporation, both in Teterboro. Later she was the cafeteria manager at St. Joseph Regional High School, retiring in 1987. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy R. C. Church.
She is survived by her son Robert J. Rathgeb , Jr. (Mary); son John Rathgeb (Alan Chadrjian); and daughter Carolyn Bogacz (Edward). She was the grandmother of Kelsey and Justin Sheridan, Sophie Bogacz and Nicholas Gabriel. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 16, at 11:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy R. C. Church, Park Ridge, NJ. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. on Friday, July 15, at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home, Inc., 155 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park , Paramus.
