WASHINGTOWN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The owner of a Clifton-based industrial scrap metal company last week made a $1,000 donation to the Township of Washington Pascack Junior Police.
The donation by Parkway Iron and Metal's Jason Putzer was a result of a fundraising initiative launched by Township Road Department Superintendent Dan Kiely.
"Mr. Putzer — being a father just like Dan — thought it was a great idea and offered to leave a receptacle at the Township Municipal building to collect metal and iron scraps," the township website says.
"Any money raised he would donate and match to the Junior Police Academy."
