WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. -- Woodcliff Mayor Carlos Rendo recently said the borough is close to a deal on the Galaxy Gardens property, The Record reports.
The borough has been working on the purchase of the two-acre property, between Woodcliff Avenue and Werimus Road, for over two years.
The owner from Galaxy Gardens hasn't commented on the status of the proposed deal. Meanwhile, a "Property For Sale" sign remains out front.
To this point, borough discussions have been held during closed sessions, say residents who have challenged the purchase price.
Bergen County freeholders have yet to set a date to vote on the borough's request for a $500,000 Open Space Trust Fund grant for the project.
