Fire Consumes Sweeper Truck In Washington Township

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A sweeper truck caught fire late Tuesday night on Pascack Road in Washington Township.

Travis Sample told Daily Voice he was in bed when he heard what sounded like gunshots.

"I thought it was probably nothing but I heard popping noises again and I get up and I see this one truck in flames," Sample said.

"My mom called the police and the fire department and this truck just blew up — literally exploded right outside my driveway," he said.
