Before ordering, just say “Jersey Mike’s for Jessica!”

“We’ll be running the benefit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday,” said Manager Dan Gray.

The community support is for Jessica Livingstone, 16, who was diagnosed with moyamoya, a disease that constricts some arteries in the brain.

Livingstone, who had a stroke, emerged from a medically induced coma earlier this week, according to a GoFundMe campaign started by her big brother, Daniel.

She is home now, where she will stay for two weeks until her neurologist determines when her first neurosurgery can be done, Daniel wrote.

The GoFundMe page explains the delicate state in which the family now lives:

“During this two-week period Jessica cannot run, jump or lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. She also needs someone in the house with her 24/7.”

Such vigilance is difficult in a household where her father is a postal worker, her mother a schoolteacher and her brother a college student.

“Please just continue showing support, in any form you can, to help get Jessica back on her feet,” Daniel wrote. “It really does help.”

Jersey Mike’s, which opened last month, is at 464 Kinderkamack Road in the Stop ’n Shop mall.
