HILLSDALE, N.J. -- The first of two dignified American flag burning ceremonies was conducted Monday morning in Hillsdale by members of the General Leonard E. Wood American Legion Post 162 of Hillsdale, Old Tappan and Woodcliff Lake.

As an ongoing service to the community, members collect used and unserviceable flags at several locations throughout the year and then conduct the dignified ceremonies at the DPW building.
