BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. -- Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty is teaming up with Move for Hunger to help those in the Northern and Central areas of New Jersey with a 25,000-pound challenge.
“We are looking forward to reaching and exceeding our goal of 25,000 pounds of collected food,” Charles Oppler, CEO and broker of Sotheby’s, said in a statement. “There are over one million people in New Jersey who are still food insecure.”
Throughout the rest of the month, the realty firm will collect non-perishable foods from clients, colleagues, and family members hoping to reach its goal of delivering tons of meals to Helping Hand Food Pantry, a local food bank that will benefit directly from the Hillsdale office.
Anyone who would like to participate may donate food during business hours to the following locations:
- Alpine, 1022 Closter Dock Road
- Edgewater, 2 Main St.
- Fort Lee, 1608 Lemoine Ave.
- Franklin, Lakes 804 Franklin Ave.
- Hillsdale, 137 Broadway
- Ridgewood, 55 North Maple Ave.
- Saddle River, 152 West Saddle River Road
- Tenafly, 90 County Road
The organization is looking for pasta, sauce, canned vegetables, fruit, peanut butter, jelly, soup, rice, and baby food.
Harrington Moving & Storage, Ridgewood Moving Services, and All Season Movers will be donating resources. Those who are moving who also have non-perishable items that they must clear from their pantries are welcome to donate at the event as well.
