"It was a very nice surprise this morning to find that a resident had dropped off a large amount of toys for our PBA toy drive this year," read the note on the department's Facebook page. "We are very thankful for the dontation made by a family in town."
Police said the family's generosity will bring smiles to many children this year. In Park Ridge, new and unwrapped toys can be dropped off 24 hours a day at the drop box in the police department's lobby.
The Park Ridge Police Department is one of several Pascack Valley departments participating in the annual toy drive. Others include Emerson, Hillsdale, River Vale, Washington Township, Westwood and Woodcliff Lake.
Toys will be sent to children at Sanzari Children's Hospital, Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey, Birthright of Bergen County, Military Families and Tomorrow's Children Hospital.
