Vivienne Knopp is “a smart, funny, strong and energetic girl who always has a huge smile on her face,” Northvale resident Thomas Panarese wrote on a GoFundMe page he created Monday to raise money for her medical treatment.

The campaign garnered nearly $45,000 in donations by Wednesday afternoon.

Out of respect for her family’s privacy, Panarese did not disclose Vivienne's diagnosis. But he said she “requires immediate, aggressive medical treatment to try to improve her medical situation.”

Panarese said all are welcome to attend the healing mass.

“For the Northvale community and surrounding towns, your attendance and support for the Knopp family during these difficult times would be greatly appreciated. All faiths are welcome to come this evening as the church looks forward to a good turnout from the community,” he said.

The mass will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at St. Anthony’s Church, 199 Walnut St., in Northvale.

A meal train has also been set up for the Knopp family, and community members and restaurants may participate, Panarese said.
