Stever, of Park Ridge, turns 37 today.
Stever, who is lead guitarist for Coheed and Cambria, a progressive rock band from New York City, was born Nov. 25, 1978, and grew up in Park Ridge.
He is a founding member of the band, which is named after the title characters in lead singer-guitarist Claudio Sanchez's story, which is central to most of the band's albums.
Stever acts as a lead and rhythm guitarist in the band. He and Sanchez share leads and solos in the band's music and will often switch back and forth in the "dueling guitar" style made popular in the 1970s.
Stever is the lead guitarist and vocalist of a side project called Fire Deuce, a 1980s-style metal band that released "Children of the Deuce" in 2005.Stever has also embarked on a second non-Coheed project named Davenport Cabinet, which released "Nostalgia In Stereo" in 2008, "Our Machine" in 2013 and "Damned Renegades" in 2014.
