MONTVALE, N.J. — Award-winning Montvale author Chris J. Behrens will visit Fair Lawn's Warren Point Elementary school to talk about his book "Savanna's Treasure," on Thurs., March 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The single father will discuss the message behind the book: how unlikely friendships between humans and animals can change the world.

Behrens pursued a career in literature when he found himself enjoying reading assignments that his counselor gave to him while going through a divorce. 

“The counseling was mandatory," he said. "But it was a blessing in disguise."
