Hailing from Quiver Farm Projects in Pennsylvania, Ethel, a New Zealand White Rabbit, and her one-week-old babies will be staying in the children’s department where children can watch them grow.

“We’re definitely enjoying it,” said children’s librarian Catherine Vanderwende. “They’ve just gotten their white fuzz but they’re still too tiny to hop.”

The library brings in a different animal every year as a learning experience for youngsters, the librarian said. In years past it’s cared for chicks and quails.

The Westwood Public Library is located at 49 Park Ave.
