River Vale Mom Teaches Acceptance Through Art

RIVER VALE, N.J. -- The "Animals, Art and Acceptance" program came to Hillsdale's Smith School on Tuesday, April 12, and the students got to discuss diversity, with the help of a three-legged friend.

Hillsdale students learned about acceptance with the help of Sydney, a three-legged dog.

Louise Buzzelli, owner of Mozart to Monet, which provides art education for kids and adults, has paired with vet Dr. Tracy Cohen-Grady to help teach kids about acceptance. Sydney, a three-legged Shepherd mix rescue dog, assists.

"I went to bed last night feeling as if what took place at The Smith School will forever be etched in the memories of the children and adults who attended 'Animals Art and Acceptance,' teaching acceptance despite disabilities," Buzzelli said.

"Sydney symbolizes something in every one of us, regardless if we have a 'disability' or not," she continued. "I am honored to share this program with children, in schools, with adults, with the world."
