Santa Now Has His Own Hotline, Thanks To Emerson Firefighters

Santa Claus is coming to Emerson this weekend, and now he has a brand-new hotline that parents can call to pinpoint stops on his route as he rolls around town in a big, red fire engine.

EMERSON, N.J. – Santa Claus is coming to Emerson and he has something new in his gigantic sack of presents -- a hotline!

Parents will be able to call (201) 261-2242 to pinpoint stops on the big guy's route as he rolls around town Sunday in a red fire engine.

The jolly old elf himself will make an appearance on Saturday, Dec. 17, at Emerson Jr./Sr. High School after a showing of Disney's “Finding Dory,” a 3D computer-animated children’s film

The program begins at 10:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be served and Saint Nick will pose for photos.

On Sunday, Dec. 18, Santa's tour starts at 10 a.m. west of Kinderkamack Road and ends sometime in the afternoon on the east side of town.

Monitoring Santa's precise location is reminiscent of the way NORAD "follows" him on Christmas Eve.

(Every year, since 1955, the North American Aerospace Defense Command has purported to track Santa as he leaves the North Police to delivers presents to children around the world.)

Both programs are being sponsored by the Emerson Fire Department, said Chief Mark Brackenbury.
