Emerson Softball Tournament Benefits Memorial Art Scholarship

EMERSON, N.J. -- The first annual "Shine on for Stephanie" softball tournament will be held in Emerson on Saturday, June 18.

Emerson student Stephanie Morgan is remembered through a scholarship fund -- which this softball tournament will benefit.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Stephanie Morgan Art Scholarship, given in memory of Morgan, who died last spring in a car accident. She was 18 years old and a senior at Emerson Jr./Sr. High School.

"Throughout her high school career, Stephanie was actively a part of many art classes and created many amazing creations," the Facebook page for the scholarship organization notes.

You can view the tournament bracket here. In addition to the softball games, there will be a bounce house, face-painting, cotton candy, food, music and raffles.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 6 .m. at Hillman Field, in Emerson, rain or shine.
