Come Test Your Trivia Skills, Raise Funds For Teen Suicide Prevention

EMERSON, N.J. -- At the beginning of her second semester at Penn State, 19-year-old Madison Holleran, a soccer and track star from Allendale, took her life, much to the shock and horror of her family and the community.

The late Madison Holleran of Allendale was a student and star athlete at Northern Highlands Regional High School.

To help raise awareness about teen suicide, her family began a foundation, and Emerson High School's Key Club is hosting a trivia night on Wednesday, Feb. 22, to raise funds for it -- and the public is invited.

The competition will feature teams of 4-6 people, and will include pizza, snacks and beverages. The cost is $5 per participant, and proceeds will go to the Madison Holleran Foundation.

ESPN did an in-depth article about Holleran's story, including a telling video, in 2015. You can view it here.

To sign up for the trivia night, email kellymurphy@emersonschools.org.

The event will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m., in the Emerson Junior-Senior High School cafeteria. The school is located at 131 Main St.
