It will have a grand opening celebration Saturday and a ribbon-cutting reception Wednesday.

The grand opening is from 9 a.m. to noon, and residents can stop by to enjoy free giveaways, including two flat-screen televisions, free hot dogs, the Blizzard of Dollars money machine, face painting and balloon animals and a Plinko game to win Unity Bank prizes.

Bank President James Hughes, the Emerson Chamber of Commerce and local leaders will take part in the 1 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony. Light refreshments will be served during the reception.

“We hope local residents and businesses will join us for one or both of these events to help introduce the branch to the community,” Hughes said. “The bank and Emerson branch staff are very excited to be open for business and we look forward to meeting people throughout the county. As a community bank, we are committed to becoming very involved on a local level and providing a personalized banking experience.”

Unity Bank, based in Clinton, will have 17 branches throughout its service area with the addition of the Emerson location. The Emerson property previously was a pharmacy and gift shop.

The branch has dedicated parking, a drive-up window and a drive-up/walk-up ATM. The full-service branch offers Unity’s complete range of consumer and commercial deposit, lending and investment services, including remote deposit and mobile banking. The branch also includes a Unity café with beverages and Internet access for banking transactions, as well as a comfortable lobby and seating area.
