Employees and officials from the Leem's Corporation — which owns several buildings and warehouse space in the borough — distributed rice cakes along with the Thanksgiving Day birds at the company's annual Love Turkey Drive.

The corporation has been collecting money from its tenants to purchase the turkeys since 2002 and every year, it takes less and less time to distribute more and more turkeys, Rotundo said.

"Before you know it it's been 20 minutes and the turkeys are gone," said Rotundo, who's been helping out at the event since it began in 2002.

"These seniors live on a fixed income as it is and... look forward to this every year."
