Montvale, N.J. -- The GYM of Montvale is offering a series of workshops and individualized golf training sessions for recreational golfers that aims to produce a more efficient, repeatable and powerful swing while reducing the chance of injury.
Conducted by Pete Kandel, a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified expert, the program's 4-session initial programming package costs $400. Individual pricing after that varies on the package type. Non-members pay a slight premium. Group training is available.
The Titleist Performance Institute is the world's leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. TPI works with many of the world’s top professional golfers.
TPI’s experts spent nearly two decades studying the swings of more than 100,000 golfers to determine the correct body-swing connection.
The winners of 7 of the last 12 majors and 38 of the last 63 PGA tour events were won by players who were advised by TPI certified professional. Of the top 35 players in the world, 22 are TPI graduates.
“Every golfer brings to the game unique physical and mental characteristics that need to be individually addressed.” Kandel. said “There’s more than one way to swing a golf club, and based on what your body can physically do, you can achieve an efficient swing.”
The program begins with "body screening," which uses video to identify personal body swing characteristics and their effects. The assessment data is then analyzed to design a customized individual plan that uses a variety of specific training exercises and corrective movements.
The program also features Body Swing Connection Workshops focusing on the "Big 12" common body swing disconnections -- posture, spine angle and shoulder plane, among them -- and the corrective exercises needed.
